Voyager ’72 Forest Bathing – A Reunion with Nature
Lyon Arboretum, 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (New Session Added)
Reconnect with fellow alums, the natural world and your inner nature on a forest bathing walk facilitated by our classmate and Hawaiʻi’s first certified forest therapy guide, Phyllis Look. Forest bathing is an evidence-based wellbeing practice, inspired by Japan’s Shinrin-yoku. This gentle, mindful walk of less than a mile will include opportunities to share, as well as to sit in quiet contemplation. Appropriate for most fitness levels.

Punahou invites alumni to explore concepts and experiences both close to home and as far out as the metaverse. Speakers include Punahou alumni, faculty and students.

We are rounding up reservations at favorite restaurants on Tuesday and Wednesday for small-group dining experiences to meet up with friends or get reacquainted with other classmates. Couples and singles are welcome! On the registration form, opt in to be on the list to attend one or both nights and our coordinators will take it from there.

Calling all golfers! Swing into a day of fun on the championship Royal Kunia links, where the spectacular panoramic view of the entire south shore of Oahu make it one of the most picturesque courses on Oahu.

Discover the transformative changes made since we graduated during this exclusive Class of ’72 tour led by Stan Duncan ’73 of PBR Hawaii (project landscape architects) along with his semi-retired partner and ‘72 classmate Tom Witten. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Voyager ’72 Coastline Cleanup with Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii Kahuku Golf Course, 56-501 Kamehameha Hwy, 9 – 11:30 a.m. (no cost to attend)
Our plan is to spend a few hours of community service in the morning (optional), followed by lunch and a fun family day at Kikila. Carpools will be organized.
The Kahuku coastline has attracted some of the worst marine pollution in our islands. Educate yourself and your family on the importance of our stewardship as we join members of the class of ’97 in clearing plastics and other ocean debris from this coastal area.

Whether or not you participate in the morning beach cleanup, join us for a family day (kids and grandkids welcome) at our classmate’s historic home, Kikila, where we spent our Senior Skip Day! Opt in for a tasty plate lunch or bring your own provisions, then plan to relax, cool off in the refreshing pool or at Pounders Beach, play some paddle tennis and lawn games, and most of all, enjoy the fellowship of classmates.

Two service opportunities are offered by Punahou School, and are open to all alumni: Hakipu’u Stream Restoration Area and Lo‘i service project and Rocky Hill Stewardship Day.

Voyager ’72 Kualoa Ranch: Hike, Bike, Zipline or Tour!
49-560 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe. 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Join your classmates for a morning at Kualoa Ranch! Our exclusive guided hike will take you to the edge of the Ahupua’a of Kualoa and the Ahupua’a of Hakipu’u, learning the history and mo’olelo along the way. You’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of Kaneohe Bay, too. Cost is $40 and preorder lunch box for $19. Book hike directly through our classmate Dan McCrerey by emailing (copy and paste) dmccrerey@msn.com. Additionally, use our online or mail-in registration form to book (pay for) the Class of ’72 hike and order lunch.

Voyager ’72 Sunset Reception: Punahou, Palaka and Pupu Party
Home of Jean and Ethan Abbott, 6-9 p.m. (adults only)
Jean and Ethan Abbott host the Class of ’72 at their oceanfront home in Wailupe. Look forward to a magical evening of renewing friendships as we harken back to Carnival 1971, when palaka reigned. Relax in carnival casual attire and revel in the beautiful setting, tastes inspired by Carnival, and the camaraderie of our classmates. Special mahalo to brewmaster Bill “Noodle” Leary for contributing his Poi Pounder Hawaiian Ale, a small-batch pale ale that he crafts at his Coconut Island Brewery in Windward Oahu.
